Gear Update
Wow, even the cobwebs have cobwebs in this so called blog!
Since the A&L acoustic, I've added a Washburn WI-66PRO with a Seymour Duncan '59 pickup in the neck, and a Seymour Duncan Custom Custom pickup in bridge.
The Tele Search
I've played many different Tele's from Classic Vibes to MIM's, American Specials, and American Standards. The CV's were pretty good for the price, if a slight bit ice-picky at the bridge pickup. The CV's (Tele's and Strat's) are a must try before you buy due to the occasional quality inconsistency. The American Special Tele's sounded even better than the American Standards, yet had all of the build quality. Their Texas Special pickups became the mark to compare other to.

I bought a Hell Guitars No.2 after watching Robert Renman's demo's and listening to the Bare Knuckle sound samples on their website. Mine is actually a prototype, has "The Boss" Tele style pickups, and I couldn't be more pleased. They sound better than any Tele pickup I've ever heard. They have a an improved bass and mid range, retain the sparkle of a true Tele, and never come close to any ice pick shrill. They are wound just a little hotter than vintage so they can rock hard, and then play pure country clean or jazz.
The quality of the Hell No. 2 is also incredible, especially for the price. It is light, small body, and comfortable. All of the hardware and electronics are of high quality. Michael is a pleasure to work with as well. I can't recommend Hell Guitars enough!

I bought a barely used Mustang I 15 20 watt combo, which has to be the best bang for the buck when it comes to small practice modeling amps.
Later I bought the newest Super Champ, the X2. It does everything the Mustang can, but sounds and feels much better thanks to the tube power section. The controls are easier to navigate, and the amp models plus independent effects are also improved greatly. Channel 2 has 16 excellent amp models, and channel 2 is a pure tube Champ amp.

Yet another cobweb covered blog
Hell, I almost forgot about this place.
Here are a few new and used guitars and the Egnater Tweaker amp that have made a home in my house this year.
The Art & Lutherie Spruce dreadnought acoustic sings like an angel. Affordable and made in Canada... You can't beat that!

This $50 Squier Tele Deluxe pawn shop find needed some TLC, but now it plays well with the addition of the GFS Vintage 59 Alnico pickups.
The Egnater Tweaker 20 watt head has got to be the best sounding amp that is still super affordable. You wouldn't believe how flexible it is, and the clean tones can compete with the best out there. It also roars like a beast when the gain is cranked.
Speaking of affordable yet incredible buys, the Squier Cool Vibe 50's Stratocaster is a quality made guitar, regardless of the low price. The only mod's it needed were to replace the jumbo thick pick guard with an aged Warmoth, and dumping the tiny zinc tremolo block and replacing it with a GFS brass one. This guitar is now complete!

Wow, what a loss. I'd rather look at what gains we all are blessed with thanks to everything Les did.
There is no guitar related icon who has more richly deserved the many honors bestowed upon him than the Les Paul. The world will always be a better place because he was here.

It could happen to you...

There are so many unpredictable global events and factors that could put us into a depression, and everyone keeps their heads comfortably up their asses. Sick of corporate speak?
Oh Gawd, please... stop the corporate lingo/catch phrase/buzz word/acronym abuse!
This rampant corporate cultural disease is snowballing across America's Action Team meetings filled with corporate puppets attempting to bolster their Adminisphere's, and I'm ready to spew my stomach contents if subjected to any more.
Do these sheeple actually think, "I sound fantastic when I talk. These people will really be impressed once they hear what I have to say.”, when we are really thinking, "What a jag-off"?
I beg my fellow humans and cube farmers to return to simple, direct dialog and effective communication by saying NO to corporate lingo and YES to re-humanizing our work environments.
Here are but a few old and new phrases and terms that are ready for burial.
Please feel free to add your own, but do not use bullets to list them! Try not to use too much of your personal bandwidth either, OK?
interface --I recall this is one of the first one's we started hearing in the early 80's. "I'm interfacing with a client." Sounds like something fun!
think outside the box --Let's put this one in a box and bury it, unless of course, it occupies the white space. I'll Twitter a White Paper on it and interface with you at today's power lunch.
value stream --a process in creating yellow snow?
Speaking of "process", anything related to business processes and their sub-tongues need to walk the plank by COB unless they want to be RIF'ed in the next downsizing.
taking point --Sorry, I'm not taking point without an automatic rifle, thank you.
Mission statements/objectives using the words, synergy, synergize, synergistic, and value added.
action items --Replaced "tasks" because it optimizes optimally.
productize --Please, kill me now...
